What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you login into our app using your de-identifiable login and password. This information is utilized and is governed by the UCLA IRB approved Research study myHeartCare.
What do we use your information for?
This information is used to “personalize” your experience using this app. It is also used to improve your user experience. However, most importantly, it is used in conjunction with the Academic Advancement Program that we are conducting.
How do we protect your information?
Your interaction with this app is transmitted via encryption and is protected in transit. Your data is protected in a secure electronic environment (firewall protected, password protected, encrypted database), and only the investigators will have direct access to data. All transactions will be audited at every access point. Contents of all records will be de-identified for any external usage, such as publication of results. Publications will present only summary data. No data that flows through a vendor system will include protected health information (PHI).
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We are in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance, therefore we do not distribute any of your data to any third party users beyond the agreed upon research study consent. Further, users may make changes to their profiles at any time.
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We are in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA); therefore we do not collect data from anyone under the age of 13.
